Reaching Out Into the World
At Covenant, one way we reach out into the world is through our gifts. Four times a year we collect Special Offerings through the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. These offerings which allow us to show God’s love to those in need are as follows: One Great Hour of Sharing, Pentecost, Peacemaking, and Christmas Joy. Click the logo to the right for details about the special offering dates and how each offering is distributed.
When a disaster happens (such as the earthquake, hurricane, or tornado), the Presbyterian Church has funds available that are sent immediately to the disaster area through Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA). PDA is the emergency and refugee program of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A., which focuses on the long term recovery of disaster impacted communities. Covenant participates by making donations to PDA through-out the year as disasters occur. For more information about the PDA, go to http://gamc.pcusa.org/ministries/pda/who-we-are.
Covenant sponsors an Dayton Alternative Gift Market (AGM) each year. The AGM is an opportunity for shoppers to purchase gifts that support humanitarian and environmental causes throughout the world. Traditionally, the market is held in December. See the calendar for the date of this year’s market. For more information about the AGM, select this link: www.alternativegifts.org
